Communication Breakdown.

so here is what i thought. bills that have a bar code you can pay at your local convinience store. bills that did not have a bar code came directly out of your bank account. my icy cold shower this morning tells me that my logic must be a little off.

Taiko Drumming Master

Well I guess i'd like to think so, but it appears I can't even complete a simple beat pattern. Actually i'd like to think I am quite good for only practing 2 times! I met some friends, one of which has been playing taiko for 10 years! He thought it would be awesome to rent some drums and some space and teach some taiko lessons. I was all about it. It's free, fun and makes me appear to be a functioning member of japanese society. Taiko invovles more than just playin' the big drum. I have learned that it is more of a dance. I have not quite mastered the intricate movements or the improvised additional beats. It is a highly visual art form, but for the most part, i'd like to say i'm a taiko superstar.

Here is a little wikipedia definition of Taiko for those of you unfamiliar with this term.

The word taiko (太鼓) means simply "drum" in Japanese (etymologically "great" or "wide drum"). Outside Japan, the word is often used to refer to any of the various Japanese drums (和太鼓, 'wa-daiko', "Japanese drum", in Japanese) and to the relatively recent art-form of ensemble taiko drumming (sometimes called more specifically, "kumi-daiko" (組太鼓).
